Marcus Jones

I was a weekend drinker until Pancake Day 2016 when my then-wife said she wanted to end our relationship. In that moment, my world changed. I turned to alcohol and drugs to numb the pain and grief. The bottle became my refuge, a place to hide when reality became too much to bear. The numbness it offered felt like a shield, a barrier between myself and the pain I was experiencing. My life became a cycle, each week indistinguishable from the last: work, friends, drinks, sleepless weekends, and the dreaded Sunday blues. I used alcohol as an excuse for everything – football games, stress, even the most trivial matters.

However, amidst the chaos, I found my calling. I realised I could turn my pain into purpose, my struggle into strength. I became an internationally accredited coach in transformation coaching and now, through Janey, a sober coach to help others navigate their struggles.

I now help men find their path from Booze to Better and, in turn, transform their lives. I am here to help you break the cycle, find your strength in adversity, and transform your pain into purpose.

Sarah Clothier

Sarah was a ‘happy’ drinker till she hit her 40s, the constant chatter in her head got louder and the never-ending cycle of feeling lousy from booze and regret was too exhausting to ignore. She finally put the cork back in the bottle for the last time in 2019.

Coming from a career in political communication, Sarah now works as a Sober Coach supporting Professional women who recognise they are stuck in that confusing space between presenting like a ‘normal’ drinker to the outside world, but constantly worrying and stressing about it.

Sarah’s approach is that planning will be your superpower. You’ll plan how you will overcome situations where you normally drink, plan to overcome triggers, plan treats, plan what to tell people, plan new experiences. So, if you’ve been side-eyeing your wine glass lately, wondering if it’s time for a breakup, check out www.thesoberplan.co.uk

Sally Magee Bankes, P.E.

Sally uses a positive psychology and strengths-based approach to help people leverage their natural talents – what they are already really good at – to reach new heights in their lives without alcohol as part of their life’s equation. A former “gray area drinker,” and now accredited sobriety coach, Sally used to drink to relieve the stress of a high-pressure corporate job, a demanding travel schedule, and to keep up with the guys in the male-dominated construction industry. By the end of 2021 and not sure where to turn, she signed up for a 21-day “reset” challenge, which started her curiosity about what being alcohol-free could look like.

Almost 3 years later and “solidly sober,” Sally offers 1:1 coaching and a 31-Day Alcohol-Free Challenge. She lives in California with her chocolate lab, Tucker, and husband, Mike.

Anna Sudbury

Anna never set out to quit the booze, but had enough of trying to perform at work and parent at home with a hangover and hangziety. She gave up for 4 days, then a week. It felt good, so she pushed on to a month. It wasn’t easy, but when she realised she was having more fun in the daytimes and not just in the boozy nights, she kept going. After hitting 100 days Anna never looked back. A mum of two young boys herself, she is an accredited sober coach who helps frazzled midlife mums who are tired of feeling snappy, frustrated and exhausted because of their relationship with alcohol.
