Most of you know my story, despite being Queen of natural health writing books on holistic living and running my recommendations site Imperfectly natural, I was drinking every day and waking at 3 am berating myself!

I felt bloated, tired, anxious, and terrified of getting older! (gonna happen though right!) and my world felt as though it was getting smaller.

I finally ditched the booze Dec 31 2017 and never looked back,

In January 2019 I started my podcast Alcohol Free Life and then in July of that year gave a TEDx talk Sobriety Rocks – Who Knew!

Its had not far off a million views! Please watch and give it a thumbs up!

I became aware that all of my work actually DID kinda merge as I realised that lots of other people were thinking of ditching the booze, or had been sober for a while but were starting to think about optimum health and wellbeing. That’s when I decided to start The Sober Club a platform for a non-judgmental approach to ditching the booze ….focusing not on what you might be giving up…but what you are gaining.

I started The Sober Club in Sept 2019 and didn’t have high expectations, I figured if a few people got to feel inspired and encouraged then I’d share more of my knowledge, I actually found it amazing that a bunch of people were waiting for the opening day and are still with us 2 years later!

I finally found the missing piece of the holistic health jigsaw, all those years I promoted organic food, skincare without chemicals, cleaning without the toxins, organic clothing, even eco toys, meditation, being kind to yourself YET I was stepping around the elephant in the room that was literally blocking me from living my best life.

If only someone had told me how freaking fantastic life without the booze is!

My first book on this topic Happy Healthy Sober was published in April 2021 and the audio book is out soon, I feel SO blessed to be able to share positive messages of sobriety, and inspire people caught in the alcohol trap as I was, that life is SO much better without toxic liquid.

Now I spend most of my waking hours thinking about how best I can inspire and encourage others to find the peace I have found, because when you face this demon, you really can start to focus on everything else.

In The Sober Club we have a online course included Get the Buzz without the booze which runs across 90 days, if you are already sober the principles work for other behaviour change too.  We have regular zoom coaching and social sessions, and I often invite experts to share their wisdom and offer an exclusive Q and A for members.  This is gold! Over the last couple of years we have had exclusive sessions from a leading nutritionist, gut health expert, a food addiction coach, a forgiveness expert, a numerology expert, a psychologist sharing tips on happiness and so much more, plus we have videos offering content from authors such as William Porter from Alcohol Explained and hypnosis audios from leading hypnotherapists Glenn Harrold and Ailsa Frank

I share a motivational post in the facebook group every day and answer queries and posts from members and we have great competitions to win alcohol free drinks or goodies.

The Sober Club has a full member portal with a huge library of content accessible to members at any time, and a private fb group where we engage regularly, it’s not so big that you get lost, I read every single post, I’ve often been asked ‘What if it gets too big?  How come this is the most friendly supportive non judgemental group I have ever been part of? I put a lot of energy into this club, and I believe the right people find it!

Of course I also offer retreats currently at Champneys in Herts and Sober by the Sea days in Essex

When members join they receive a batch of great goodies worth over £50 as well as access to Get the Buzz without the booze (value £197) and we suggest that they start by looking at our series of videos. Your Sober Journey, there they can look at where they are at, and chart their ‘milestones’

Is this for you?

Is it time to commit to living your best life without the booze?

You can join us for one month and then cancel, you still get the gifts worth £50!  Check it out, join the facebook group and see if it resonates, if you decide to join us before Tues 7th 7pm we have a zoom social to celebrate our 2nd birthday including a session with an angel expert.

Join us!  You can also grab our new free guide: 9 ways to combat FOMO (fear of missing out)

We have members who are sober curious, on day 1 through to members who have been sober for over 4 years.  Why does that work so well?  Because it’s all about the ‘What’s next?’

It’s all about optimising our own health and emotional wellbeing, UNDERPINNED by sobriety

So yes, we are there in our community to pick up the pieces when someone has yet another ‘Day 1’ and is feeling miserable (we are totally non-judgemental) and we are there love bombing when someone is 3 years sober but still got some challenges in other areas of their life, and we are there to cheerlead when someone has finally after years of ‘playing small’ finds the courage to follow their dreams, because that’s what tends to happen when people really finally see that booze has no place in  their life.

When you finally see that the emperor isn’t in fact wearing any clothes, THEN you start to get back to the real you, the authentic you and the world opens up

Should you join The Sober Club?

If you are thinking of ditching the booze, or if you are already sober and want to focus on feeling amazing in every area of your life, join us!

Remember the words of Johann Hari in his TED talk

‘The opposite of addiction is connection’

It really does help to get connected with like-minded people who been there, it’s tough to share your ‘fragility’ at the start of the journey with your friends and family, they may not ‘get it’, but we do, because we have been there, with bells on!

You may also find that once you are part of our fabulous tribe you make amazing friendships, and get interested in stuff you had never even considered before, one member said;

‘Since joining this club I have changed so much, who would have thought I would enjoy connecting with Angels, changing my diet to a much healthier one, actually doing couch to 5k, starting to meditate, enrolling in a creative writing course, meeting the most amazing people and focusing on health and happiness instead of fearing my menopause! Thank you Janey!’

Happy Birthday to The Sober Club 2 years! Thank you to everyone who is part of it and who has cheered me on!

Janey Lee Grace offers limited 1-1 coaching and is trained as a Grey area drinking recovery coach, NLP and EFT practitioner & health coach.
