I love interviewing Sober Club members and this week, perfect as we hit Mothers Day, its Caz Stuart as my guest on the Alcohol Free Life podcast. Her story comes with a trigger warning there’s no doubt. She talks about her grief after the loss of her child, and the heartbreaking journey that followed, but there is inspiration too. She has found her creative voice and I can’t wait to see what magic she creates!

Caz posted this on our group..

When I became serious about wanting sobriety I searched for a podcast. I recognised Janey from the big show; knew I loved her voice and laughter and felt drawn towards her professionalism. I hung on her every word, every week and so when she set up this marvellous club, I was quick to join. Other club members would say that, since getting sober, they had discovered their creativity whereas I didn’t think I had a creative bone in my body. I just didn’t think that was me. However what I have realised, is that when you get sober, you start to like yourself more. And, when you like yourself more you trust yourself more – your emotions; your judgement, your gut instinct and your intuition. Now, apparently you need to be able to hear your intuition for synchronicity (magical coincidences) to happen because intuition is our soul’s way of communicating with us, to let us know that we’re on the right path.

Last year, something about 2020 (and our session on numerology) made me feel compelled to write my story. I’m still writing and yesterday, I wrote about spirituality and synchronicity. I then got a Facebook message from a lady, I had somehow connected with out of 1400 people, who attended a Hayhouse writers challenge (I was drawn to it because Janey is a Hayhouse author). This lady told me she hadn’t written a word but had agreed to do a Facebook live telling her story about losing her son. I listened to it and blow me it was all about synchronicity!!! She even used similar words to those I had just written.Very long story (sorry) short, I know that I’m on the right path. I was meant to write. Only, I wouldn’t have heard that little voice telling me so, if I hadn’t have got sober.

That’s why, it really is where the magic happens. And coincidentally, I’ve just read that I’m the podcast guest for this week. 😬 I hope you enjoy it. Big ❤️ and thanks Janey for being my shining light, and all you lovelies – you’re like the breadcrumbs in Hansel and Gretel that keep this old soul on the right path’

Listen to the Alcohol Free Life podcast and do share with anyone who might enjoy it!
